How do I configure my caritag?

The configuration takes place via the app on your smartphone. The caritags can only be configured in the app if they are placed on the caribase. You can find a detailed description under the ‘App’ tab.

How does the caritag differ from other GPS-trackers?

Our devices can communicate with each other and measure the distance and direction to each other. This works both indoors and outdoors with the help of various localisation technologies such as GPS and UWB under the highest data protection standards. Nobody has access to the information about where your configured caritags are located.

Is there a detailed instruction manual?

Yes, at the following link

What are guide, follower, and valuable tags?

The guide tag indicates the administrator role. This means that the corresponding caritag is intended for the person who acts as a supervisor or guardian (e.g. as a group leader or parent). The follower and valuable tags are the counterparts. The follower tag is issued to group members, children, etc. and the valuable tag can be placed in an instrument case, for example, in order to be able to localise the location of the respective follower and valuable tags if necessary. There are two different security zones in the interaction of the three tag types, which can be configured individually. If a follower or valuable tag leaves a security zone, an alarm can be sent to the guide tag.

What can I do if my caritag has no signal?

There are various possibilities here. Is the caritag located in a building or vehicle? Although GPS satellites are very accurate, they also have their weaknesses, which can lead to incorrect location determination or loss of signal from the caritag. For example, GPS may only work to a limited extent or not at all indoors or in closed rooms without a clear view of the sky. Is the caritag correctly charged and switched on? Can it establish a connection via GPS or UWB? Check the symbols next to the battery indicator. Sometimes it can take a few minutes for the caritag to receive a signal. Try to move in different directions and try not to hold the caritag horizontally. If the problem persists, please contact our support team at service@caritag.com.

What rights do I have in the event of defects in the caritag?

The statutory warranty period of two years from the date of purchase applies to the caritag. Further claims are excluded.
The warranty does not cover damage caused by non-compliance with the operating instructions, improper handling or normal wear and tear.
If you have any technical problems or questions, please contact our service team at service@caritag.com.

Where do I find my caritag’s serial number?

Tap on the settings icon on the screen of your caritag to go to the settings. There, tap on the information icon and scroll down. The serial number is a sequence of numbers and letters. Alternatively, you can find the serial number on the back of the packaging of your caritag.

Why are there monthly fees for using the caritags?

The caritags must establish a connection to various mobile networks in order to transmit data if they are too far away from the guide tag for direct communication.
